DownsSteam Toowoomba Special Event

DownsSteam Toowoomba is inviting prospective volunteers to a friendly and informative volunteer morning designed especially for retirees and semi-retirees looking to stay active, social and involved in the community.

Held at the DownsSteam precinct in Drayton, the session offers guests the opportunity to explore the site, meet current volunteers and learn about the many ways people can become involved with one of Toowoomba’s most unique heritage organisations.

Whether you are interested in preserving local history, meeting new people, learning practical skills or even working towards train crew qualification, DownsSteam offers flexible volunteering opportunities suited to a wide range of interests and lifestyles.

During the morning, attendees will enjoy a guided tour of the DownsSteam precinct, hear firsthand stories from current volunteers about their experiences, and learn more about the training provided for crew and operational roles.

The event also includes a free sausage sizzle and informal social gathering, giving visitors the chance to ask questions and connect with the DownsSteam team in a relaxed environment.
